Mehedi to play for Trinbago in CPL

Bangladesh off-spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraj was called up by Trinbago Knight Riders to play this season’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

In an email yesterday the team confirmed the inclusion of Mehedi who stormed into the international circuit with a record-breaking feat against England in a Test series at home. 
Trinbago Knight Riders said Australia’s Brad Hogg will no longer be available for the 2017 season for which they have replaced Hogg with Bangladesh’s off-spinning all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz. The players’ draft of the CPL was held on March 10 with the tournament will be running from August 1-September 9.
It will be the first time the 19-year old will play any domestic T20 tournament.
Miraz, 19, has played in seven Test matches and made his One-Day International (ODI) and T20I debuts in the recent series against Sri Lanka.
He is also the second Bangladesh in this season to play the CPL after Shakib Al Hasan who was retained by his franchisee and reigning champions Jamaica Tallawahs. Four Bangladeshi players earlier put into the draft but didn’t get a team in the fifth edition.
