CHITTAGONG: A fire gutted a forklift during unloading of goods from a vessel at Chittagong Port Friday night, reports BSS.
Fire service sources said the fire originated from a spark in a forklift while it was unloading goods at Number-4 Jetty of Chittagong Port around 11-45pm. On receipt of information, two units of fire fighters from Bandar station rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 1am.
Valuables worth about TK 10 lakh were gutted in the fire while the fire fighters managed to save valuables worth about TK 50 lakh from the fire, the sources added.
