Woman hacked to death

A woman was hacked to death by her ‘husband’ at Vannara area of Kaliakoir upazila in Gazipur district over a family feud early yesterday. The victim was identified as Nasrin Akter, 28, wife of Nurul Islam of the area.
Inspector (Investigation) of Kaliakoir police station Rafikul Islam said Nurul Islam, a mason of the area locked into an altercation with his wife Nasrin Akter over a family matter early yesterday. At one stage, he attacked Nasrin with a sharp weapon, leaving her dead on the spot. After the incident, Nurul left the place quickly.
The deceased two sons found their mother’s body lying on the room at the morning and informed neighbours. On information, later police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and sent to Gazipur Shahid Taj Uddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
