Preparations for Pahela Baishakh in full swing

NETRAKONA: Preparations are almost complited to welcome “Pahela Baishakh”, the first day of the Bangla new year, on April 14 in the district, reports BSS. Different socio-cultural organizations and educational institutions chalked out various programs to celebrate the day with pomp and gaiety.
Netrakona district administration designed an official elaborate program in line with the national program to mark the day. Apart from this, the district and police administration have also taken a fool-proof security arrangement for smooth and peaceful celebration of Pahela Baishakh without any untoward incident.
The day’ program will be formally started with a colorful function entitled “Borsoboron Unustan” (new-year welcoming function) at Muktomona Mancha on the old collectorate office building premises here during the sun-rising period. In the function, native food-items will be served among people.
As part of the programs, a colorful procession will be brought out in the district town in the morning under the auspices of district administration welcoming the new Bangla year. People from all walks of life irrespective of cast, creed and religion will participate in the rally.
