AFP, BERLIN: Robert Lewandowski says he expects to be fit for Wednesday's crunch Champions League clash against Real Madrid despite injuring his shoulder in Bayern Munich's 4-1 thrashing of Borussia Dortmund.
Lewandowski has scored 38 goals in all competitions for Bayern this season -- seven in the Champions League -- after he netted twice in Saturday's win over Dortmund to leave him with 26 Bundesliga goals this season. But having converted a second-half penalty, Lewandowski went off on 72 minutes and was clutching his right shoulder on the way to the Bayern bench.
However, the hot-shot is confident of facing Real.
“We didn't want to take a risk. The shoulder is bruised, but it's not so bad,” Lewandowski told Sky when asked why he came off. “I hope that I will be 100 percent fit for Real.”
Bayern winger Arjen Robben admitted there were concerns Bayern might face the Spanish giants without their star forward.
“I asked him what the matter was and he just said he had pain in his shoulder,” Robben said
