Youth Cricket League for the 2016-2016 season will get underway at two different venues of Cox’s Bazar today.
A total of four zonal teams including South Zone (Khulna and Barisal), Central Zone (Dhaka-north and south with Dhaka Metro), North Zone (Rajshahi and Rangpur) and East Zone (Chittagong and Sylhet) will take part in the tournament, which is being held for the second times since 2016.
Each team consists of 14 players for the four-dayer tournament.
South Zone will face off East Zone at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium (SKICS), while Central Zone will take on North Zone at the SKICS academy ground in the opening round. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) meanwhile selected 56 players from different districts and divided them under four zonal teams.
The board provided them a two-week-long training at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium before releasing them for the tournament.
