KHULNA: An alleged terrorist was injured in a ‘gunfight’ with police at Boira Textile Mills field in Sonadanga area of the city early Sunday, reports UNB.
Tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area around 5:30am to recover firearms, said Momtazul Haque, officer-in-charge of Sonadanga Police Station.
During the drive, the law enforcers arrested Tunda Shamim and recovered a revolver and two bullets from his possession.
At one stage, a group of Shamim's associates attacked the law enforcers to snatch Shamim and opened fire on them, forcing the law enforcers to fire back that triggered a gunfight.
