RANGPUR: State Minister for Social Welfare Nuruzzaman Ahmed has called upon everybody to stand beside the autistic, disabled children to flourish their inherent talents, reports BSS.
"The autistic children and children with special needs could be turned into productive human resources to ensure their participation in the national building process through taking their proper care," he said.
The State Minister said this at the brief discussion on 'Autism and other forms of disabilities' organised by Rangpur Pain Paralyses and General Hospital (RPPGH) at its auditorium in the city on Friday night as the chief guest.
RPPGH organised the discussion under 'Rehabilitation and Research Institute for the Community of the Autistic and Other Disabled (RICAD)' to create awareness about autism and other forms of disabilities and necessary treatments.
Managing Director of RPPGH Dr Tashikul Islam presided over the event participated by representatives of different organisations working for welfare of the autistic and disabled children, physicians, officials of the Departments of Social Services (DSS), social workers and civil society members. Physiotherapy specialist of RPPGH Dr Sonia Akhter, noted social worker and women community leader China Chowdhury and Deputy Director of DSS, Rangpur Abdur Razzaque addressed the function as special guests.
