DU student drowns in dormitory pond

A Dhaka University (DU) student drowned in the Shahidullah Hall pond on the campus yesterday evening, reports UNB.
Bayozid Bostaymi was a first-year student of the Applied Statistics department and a resident of the dormitory.
DU acting proctor AM Amzad said members of Fire Service and Civil Defence rescued Bayozid from the pond and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 7pm.
Campus sources said the DU drowned in the pond while taking his bath after a football match.
