Final round of spinner hunting begins today

The third and final round trials of Robi Khoj the number 1 spinner will get underway at the BCB-National Cricket Academy (NCA) ground in Mirpur today.
This final round, splitting into two phases-Eliminator-1 and Eliminator-2, will be taken place with participation of selected spinners.
A total of 60 selected participants has been shortlisted from the divisional round including 50 from men’s category, 5 from women’s category as many as physically challenged spinners will take part in the final trial.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) vice-president and its High Performance (HP) chairman Mahbubul Anam revealed this at a press conference at the Media Block of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) yesterday.
Jointly organised by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Robi Axiata Limited, Wahidul Gani, spin specialist of the Robi Khoj the number 1 spinner, Motiul Islam Nawshad, chief corporate and people officer (CCPO) of Robi Axiata Limited  and AEM Kawser, coordinator of this initiative were also present.  
The first Eliminator will be held on April 8 after the first two days of intense physical fitness and skill tests. The 60-member squad at this stage will be whittled down to 20-22.
Therefore, the top 10 spinners will be defined at the Eliminator-2, which will be held on April 10 just one day after its first elimination. Describing the entire selection process, Mahbubul Anam said this was the first such initiative for them that were begun since February. They had wishes to sort out the talent at grass-root level across the country and so they have tried to touch all the districts of the country as per it.
“We had selected overall 9,772 spinners from 10,000   for the primary phase. Then we trimmed it to 1,000 including 928 boys and 72 girls for the second phase, which was held at 10 different divisional venues. And then, we once again whittled down the squad to 60 for the third and last phase,” said Mahbub.
