Public lecture on human dev at DU today
A public lecture on ‘Human Development for All’ will be held at Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium at Social Science Faculty Bhaban on Dhaka University (DU) campus at 10.30 am today.
DU Population Sciences Department is organising the programme, said a DU release yesterday. Director of UNDP Human Development Report Office in New York Dr Selim Jahan will addressee the function as a distinguished speaker, the release added.
Two new courses launched at AIUB
The Department of Marketing, Faculty of Business Administration of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) has organised a launching ceremony of the two new marketing major courses at the AIUB Auditorium recently, says a press release.
The courses ‘Agro-based Product Marketing’ and ‘Product Innovation and Management’ to be offered to the students of the BBA Programme in the upcoming Summer 2016-17 Semester. KATALYST, an organisation promoting the agro-sector in Bangladesh jointly collaborated with AIUB to develop and offer these two new courses to the academia.
Dr Carmen Z Lamagna, vice-chancellor of AIUB and Project Proponent, inaugurated the programme and underscored the significance and value of these two new courses to the students of AIUB.
Gupta Bahadur Banjara, Head of Capitalization, KATALYST, also shared his thoughts on the prospects of these two courses to be offered at the academic level. Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean, Faculty of Business Administration Prof Dr Charles C Villanueva, the Project Director, presented the entire Development Process of these two new courses to be offered at AIUB.
Dev Memorial Lecture held at DU
Dev Centre for Philosophical Studies of the Department of Philosophy of Dhaka University (DU) yesterday organised ‘Dev Memorial Lecture-2016’ at the RC Majumder Arts Auditorium on the campus.
Pro Vice-Chancellor (academic) of the university Prof Nasreen Ahmad chaired the programme while Professor of Philosophy Department Dr Azizun Nahar Islam presented a key note on 'Gautama Buddha's Sad Philosophy'. The Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof Abu Md. Delwar Hosain and Professor of Philosophy Department Dr Aminul Islam took part in the discussion. Director of the Dev Centre for Philosophical Studies Dr. Pradip Kumar Roy conducted the function. Prof Nasreen Ahmad urged the students to work for building a terrorism and militancy free peaceful world and for ensuring human welfare.
