Relatives of militants, killed during law enforcers’ operations in Barahaat and Nasirpur hideouts, have refused to take the bodies for burial. Mother of Ashraful Alam Nazim, one of the three suspected militants who died in a suicide blast at terror hideout at Barahaat, said she will not take his dead body home for burial. The three suspected militant blew themselves up after the house was surrounded by a SWAT team of police. Ashraful Alam Nazim was ‘identified from photographs’ found inside the Barahaat house raided by police last week. Nazim’s mother Monowara Begum, wife of late Sultan Ahmed of Sonaimuri in Noakali, could not identify the body torn up in the explosion, said Superintendent of Police Md. Shahjalal yesterday. “We didn’t recognise the dead body. But we are sure it’s him, after seeing the photos,” said Motahar Hossain, a UP member of Daiti union of Sonaimuri, who came to Moulvibazar with Monowara Begum yesterday morning. Meanwhile, relatives of the seven people including five children who died in a suicide blast inside a terror hideout at Nasirpur in Moulvibazar also refused to take the bodies. The seven were also identified from photographs found inside the Nasirpur house raided by police last week, said police. Abu Bakkar Siddique of Ghoraghat Upazila in Dinajpur claimed to be the father of the woman who died in the blast along with her husband and five children. Police said they found body parts belonging to seven or eight people on March 30 during Operation Hitback.
