The performance of the young players in the upcoming Dhaka Premier League (DPL) will be under the scanner of BCB national selection panel as they will pick players to form the new squad for High Performance (HP) programme.
This intensive training programme organised by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will resume in June.
The panel, which consists of five members including three selectors, head coach and team manager, will select players on the basis of their league’s performance. Australia-born Simon Helmot will supervise the team as the head coach of the squad. Along with him, some spin and seam experts will work on temporary basis for the HP team.
In this regard, HP manager Nazmul Abedin Fahim said that they have plans to decorate the team at different vein.
“This time the HP will be a different type of squad. We are formulating our plans for that. Now we are moving forward in that way,” said Nazmul Abedin.
“We want to form the team with the new players, who will perform in the Dhaka League better. Our selectors will witness the matches and look into the players’ performance in the league,” Fahim told The Independent.
Last year the training camp was held by local coaches because of not coming Simon Helmot.
