A storytelling and stage performance programmme titled ‘Classroom Theatre’, based on the stories and plays from the text book, has begun to make the classroom creative in the capital last month. As a part of the long-term programme which is taking place for the second time, a performance programme was held in the classroom of Motijheel Government Boys’ High School in the capital yesterday. People Theatre Association (PTA) introduced the idea aiming to spread the traditional culture with the performance, which was designed and conducted by Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) Liaquat Ali Lucky.
Artistes of Peoples’ Little Theatre staged plays ‘Bobby’ directed by Liaquat Ali Lucky and written by Bijoy Tendulkar, and ‘Ekti Chair-er Atma Kahini’ directed by Liaquat Ali Lucky. Besides, as a part of ‘Classroom Theatre’ programme, a play ‘Obak Jolpan’, scripted by Sukumar Ray and directed by DG of BSA Liaquat Ali Lucky, was also staged. PTA started a revolutionary movement in January 1990 and it has so far participated in 85 international festivals.
