Over 200 students of five schools including Shuhuilpur High School, Hajiganj Pilot High School, Kanaikatha High School in Chandpur fell sick after taking de-worming tablets yesterday morning.
When contacted, headmaster of Induriya High School in Matlab Uttar upazila of Chandpur Md Bashirullah told this correspondent that students fell sick one after another, after a medical team distributed the tablets among the students. Many of them were rushed to the local health complex.
An on-duty doctor Mehedi Hasan said the students felt unwell because they took the medicine on an empty stomach. There is nothing to worry, he added.
Civil Surgeon Dr Motiur Rahman said the sick students are under treatment in different clinics and health complexes.
