Shakib Gazi Group bound

After losing star opener Tamim Iqbal, reigning champions Abahani Limited now lost the star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who reportedly joined Gazi Group Cricketers.

It is learnt club manager Sohel Rana made the formalities of signing Shakib into their team in Colombo. Coordinator of First Division Cricket League Rafiqul Islam was present there as the representative of CCDM.
Abahani basically showed no interest for Shakib since the player will remain busy with IPL. However Gazi Group contracted with him as match by match. Shakib will draw a Tk. 5.50 lakh for per match if he gets any opportunity to play the league. 
Abahani roped in Mahmudullah in the place of Shakib in fact with a whopping amount of Tk. 60 lakh. Earlier they lost Tamim Iqbal to Mohammedan Sporting Club. Tamim led the side to the title in the last season. 
Shakib however won’t get any opportunity to play for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL for a whole season since Bangladesh’s camp for the tri-nation series in Ireland and ICC Champions Trophy will kick-start in the first week of May.
