Grand Fashion Festival 2017 underway in capital

The five-day-long Grand Fashion Festival-2017 got underway at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Monday, reports UNB.
Fashion Entrepreneurs Association of Bangladesh (FEAB) organised the festival marking the celebration of upcoming Bengali NewYear - Pohela Boishakh with the aim to promote local brands.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the fashion showcase on Monday while eminent cultural personality and film director Nasir Uddin Yousuf Bacchu, Secretary of Cultural Affairs Ministry Ibrahim Hussain Kha and Vice Chairman of Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Mafruha Sultana were present as special guests.
A lifetime achievement award in two categories was constituted in the name of erstwhile editor of Weekly Bichitra Shahdat Chowdhury for the first time in thefestival.
Managing Director of Nipun Crafts Ashrafur Rahman Faruk was awarded in the Entrepreneurcategory while artist, researcher, fashion designer Chandra Shekhar Saha was recognised in the Designer category.
