Gazette of 35th BCS published
The Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday issued a gazette notification on the 35th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) cadre, appointing a total of 2,073 candidates in different cadres.
The recruited officers have been urged to join their concerned offices on May 2 next, said a handout. On August 17 last, the Public Service Commission (PSC) published the final result of the 35th BCS examinations.
BCU council session begins
The 38th national council of Bangladesh Chhatra Union began at Dhaka University on Sunday.
The theme of the council is students-people unite, save education-culture.
Dhaka University professor emeritus Serajul Islam Choudhury inaugurated the four-day session at Aparajeya Bangla of the university hoisting the national and the organisation flags. Nowadays there is no justice in our society. We cant ensure proper development. The discrimination between the rich and poor people is increasing day by day. Our education system is now divided among three classes, said Prof Choudhury while speaking on the occasion.
Drug trader arrested
A special team of Divisional Intelligence office (Dhaka) under Department of Narcotics (DNC) arrested an alleged drug trader along with 3600 pieces of yaba and Tk 10,000 from a flat of Dhania Bazar Road in the capital on Sunday.
Acting Deputy Director of the divisional intelligence office Mohammad Mamun said based on secret information, the special DNC intelligence wing team conducted a drive at a flat of a multistoried building at around 4pm and arrested Rafique Chowkidar, 28, and recovered the contraband drug consignment along with the money from his possession.
