Ctg, Josephites lift Independence Day Basketball titles

Chittagong and Josephites clinched the girls and boys title respectively in the Independence Day Open 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament at Dhanmondi Indoor Basketball Gymnasium in the capital yesterday.
Chittagong team beat The Power Puff Girls 16-14 in a thrilling final yesterday morning. Lami Khondokar, Ashrin Mridha, Jara Ahmed and Mashiat Iftekhar played for champions.  Armina, Fahrin, Wanaiza and Ayeshata represented Power Puff Girls.
Josephites (A) defeat St Joseph High School (A) 18-14 in the boys’ final.  Junaid, Zarif, Taksir and Lalbib played for Josephites, while Rafin, Mark,  Rahat and Oritra fought for St Joseph.
Bangladesh Basketball Federation secretary general A K Sarker Bhaya distributed prizes as chief guest.
