Cricketers transfer date extended

The bulk of the participating teams of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) are yet to embark on their full-fledged preparation owing to the lackluster presence of the players.
Teams’ could not yet to fulfill the criteria of the players’ recruitment of the league. Each team could recruit a crop of maximum 25 players from the local battery. For this, the Cricket Committee of the Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) yet again relaxed the rules of the players’ transfer.
This time they extended the date for the next eleven days, spanning from March 31 to April 10. Apart from that, they deferred the previous schedule of the upcoming league for the subsequent five days.
It was earlier slated to kickstart on April 7. But now it will be commenced from April 12 according to the new schedule of the DPDCL.      
Most of the national pool players along with fringe and some other players are now busy in Sri Lanka and Emerging Teams Asia Cup organised by Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
Defending champions Abahani Limited will launch their practice at their club’s ground on April 3. Abahani coach Sheikh Mamun said that they could not get their players because of the Sri Lanka series and Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
“We have only four or five players available. Most of them are busy in Sri Lanka and Emerging Cup. And so, we have decided to start our preparation camp from April 3,” said Sheikh Mamun.
