Farooque, Nazia to perform at BNM today

Indira Gandhi Culture Centre (IGCC) is organising an evening with Poet Syed Al Farooque and Singer Nahid Nazia today at Sufia Kamal Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum (BNM) in the capitals Shahbag area. Syed Al Farooque is a versatile poet and writer of Bangladesh who writes on Muktijuddha and contemporary themes. He has published 37 books and16 are of poetry. His remarkable books include Batashe Lasher Gondho, 1979 (Edited on poems dedicated to Bangabundhu), Promanno Shamsur Rahman, 1983, Sobar Upore Muktijuddha, 2000, Nirbachito 100 Kabita, 2015, Kishor Shomogro-1, 2015 and many others.
He has got many awards including--Daksu Sahitto Puroshkar (1980), Zia Smriti Puroshkar (1982), Nattosova Sahitto Puroshkar (1990), Shishu Unnayan Puroshkar (1997), Kobi Sangsad Bangladesh Poet Sunil Gangopaddhay Smriti Puposkar (2014), Annondhodara puroskar: UK (2014), Bengali Sommanona Puroshkar, UK (2015) and others.
Nahid Nazia regularly performed modern, flok and Nazrul songs as a higher a grade enlisted artist since 1980 on Bangladesh Betar and TV Channels in Bangladesh including BTV, Channel i, ATN Bangla, NTV and as well as many TV Channel in India and The USA. Nahid Nazia has performed Live in many countries of Europe, Asia, America, Australia and created Seven Albums. The last one was with renowned Bollywood singer Shaan, Babul Suprio and Binodh Rathode. Her first album was published in 1991. The eighth album named Premer Joarey (Rabindra Sangeet) was published on July 2015 and the ninth album named Chirodin Suchitra-Uttam with singer Soumya Bose, poet Syed Al Farooque and reciter-presenter Anindita Kaji was also published in the same year.
