9th Pallikabi inter-club debate contest begins

Pallikabi Inter Club Debate Competition which is organised by Kabi Jashim Uddin Hall Debating Club began on Thursday at Kabi Jashim Uddin Hall, Dhaka University. It will continue till April 3. There were 40 teams participating in the 1st round, of which 22 reached the 2nd round. The 2nd round started Friday morning.
The opening ceremony of the 9th Pallikabi Inter Club Debate Competition was held at Kabi Jashim Uddin Hall auditorium at 6pm.   Dhaka University vice chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique was the chief guest of this ceremony.
Dean of Business Studies Faculty Prof Shibli Rubaiyatul Islam, Moderator of Dhaka University Debating Society Prof Mahbuba Nasrin and Provost of Kabi Jashim Uddin Hall Prof Rahmat Ullah were present as special guests.
Seminar on career development held at IUB
A seminar on career development titled ‘Drive Your Dream’ was held at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) on its campus at Bashundhara in the capital on Thursday, says a press release.
The Department of Environmental Management, IUB organised the Seminar where Monowar Hossain, Country Director, ASUTEX and Founder, Talent Hub, Bangladesh was the Keynote Speaker.
Prof M Omar Rahman, vice-chancellor, IUB, was the chief guest in the programme.
Deans and Heads of different Schools and Departments, senior members of the faculty and management and a large number of IUB students attended the seminar.
IU journalists’ association election today
KUSHTIA: The election of Islamic University Journalists Association (IUJA) will be held on the campus in Kushtia today.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the journalists association with its president Mustafa Zubayer Alam in the chair.
The election will be held at IUJA office adjacent to the university central auditorium around 8.30am. University student adviser Prof M Anwarul Haque Shopon will act as chief election commissioner and information, publication and public relation office head M Ataul Hauqe will act as assistant election commissioner while proctor Professor M Mahbubar Rahman will be present as investigator. After the poll, the result of the elections will be announced around 12.pm. IUJA president Mustafa Zubayer Alam told UNB that they had already taken the necessary steps to hold the election in a peaceful atmosphere.
