Premier cricket league on schedule

Sports Reporter

Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) in-charge Muhiuddin Billah dismissed the speculation of the delay of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL), stating that they have not taken any such decision to defer the 2016-2017 season league.

It has been speculated that the upcoming league will defer for the next four days. In that sense, the forthcoming league will not get underway before April 11.
“The league will roll onto the ground in scheduled period on April 7 and that they are doing their works keeping that date in minds. We have no such plan to delay the league,” said Muhiuddin Billah.
“We are taking our final preparation for the league, which will be played at three different venues of Fatullah and Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan (BKSP). We have no problem with our preparation,” Billah told reporters.
He said that they will hold another meeting between them before releasing the fixture of the league.
“As per our rules and regulations of the CCDM, we prepared the final fixture of the league just three-four days before the outset of the league. We will then give it to the clubs within 48 hours,” he said, adding “Over the rules and regulations we will hold a meeting with the coordination of the umpires committee which will be held three or four days prior to the league. We have not prepared the league’s schedule yet.”
This year the first class cricket league will be played with the participation of the 12 clubs, two of which has been promoted for this season. Partex Sporting Club and Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity are the newly-promoted teams, who replaced  Kalabagan Cricket Academy (KCA) and Cricket Coaching School (CCS).
