A three-day international tourism fair titled “US-Bangla Airlines Dhaka Travel Mart 2017”will commence from tomorrow in the capital to promote Bangladesh as a ‘Halal’ tourism destination.
Halal tourism is a subcategory of tourism which is geared towards Muslim families who abide by the rules in accordance to Islam.
Kazi Wahidul Alam, editor of Bangladesh Monitor, organiser of the event, revealed the information while speaking at the press briefing, which was held at a hotel in the capital yesterday.
The Bangladesh Monitor is organising the fair and US-Bangla Airlines is supporting the event as a title sponsor while Biman Bangladesh Airlines is the airline partner of the fair.
Speaking at the press conference, Kazi Wahidul Alam said, “50 organisations from home and abroad with 74 booths is going to participate in this fair and Tk 30 per person entry fee has been fixed”

Bangladesh has failed to promote their tourism product worldwide because of implementation of appropriate marketing strategy, he added.
We need an effective marketing plan to promote our tourism sector and for that we need to develop a few things such as, communication skills, adequate infrastructure and skilled manpower resources, Kazi Wahidul Alam also said.
