More than 80 shanties were gutted in a fire that broke out at Chairman Colony under Panchlaish Police Station in Chittagong yesterday. However, no casualties were reported.
The fire broke out at around 11:30am from a gas stove. Being informed, nine vehicles of four units of Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and doused the fire at 1:40pm. Parimal Chandra Kunda, assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defence Agrabad, said, “The firefighters brought the blaze under control at 1:4pm.
