Two militants held with gunpowder

Members of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) arrested two suspected militants along with huge gunpowder in a Dhaka-bound bus at Sheroil Bus Terminal in the city on Monday night.
The arrestees were identified as Abdul Latif, 35 and Sakirul Islam, 30. They both are from Chapainawabganj, they informed to police. Senior Assistant Commissioner Ifte Khaer Alam, spokesman of RMP, said full identity of them yet not been released. He said the suspects were travelling on a passenger bus of Shyamoli Paribahan from Chapainwabganj to Dhaka.
Based on information of sources, police members of Sheroil Bus Terminal check post stopped the bus arrested them with gunpowder. They had four-and-a-half kilograms of gunpowder in their possession, which they were taking to Dhaka for causing violence. We suspect they are militants, Alam added.
After detention, the two were first taken to the office of the metropolitan police Deputy Commissioner (East) and later to Boalia Model Police Station for questioning.
