Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday interrogated managing director of BASIC Bank Limited Khondoker M Iqbal about the loan scam of Tk3,500 crore.
Former managing director Fakhrul Islam ignored the commission notice and did not appear before the anti-corruption watchdog.
A team of the commission led by deputy director Syed Iqbal Hossain interrogated Iqbal for three hours since 10:00am, an ACC official told reporters.
He said that former managing director Fakhrul Islam did not show up at the commission without any notice though he also had been asked to be present at the commission for facing interrogation.
The commission started the inquiry into alleged embezzlement of about Tk 3,500 crore from three branches of the BASIC Bank Limited.
According to the allegation, some little-known business firms had swindled the amount.
