Bangladesh female archers won a silver medal in the women’s compound team event of Asia Cup- World Ranking Archery Tournament (Stage-2) in Bangkok yesterday.
Roksana Akhtar, Susmita Banik and Bannya Akhtar won the silver medal for Bangladesh on the concluding day of the tournament. Bangladesh went down to Chinese Taiepe by 224-219 in the final. They defeated Mynmar 225-218 in the semifinal and eliminated Indonesia by 227-223 in the quarterfinal.
Bangladesh, who also earned a bronze through Shyamoli Roy in the individual recurve event, was due to return home on Saturday night. Meanwhile, Bangladesh finished joint champions with Iran in the women’s floor hockey in the Special Olympics’ Winter Games in Austria which was held from March 17 to 24. Bangladesh men’s team became runners-up in the same event.
