Shyamoli Roy won the bronze medal in the Asia Cup-World Ranking Archery tournament Round 2 when she defeated Nicole Marie Ragle of Philippines after a hard fought 6-4 sets in Thailand yesterday.
In the ongoing Asia Cup and World Ranking tournament, one of the top archers of the country Shyamoli won the only medal in the women’s recurve division.
Bangladesh moved into the quarterfinal in the mixed team event of recurve division, when Shyamoli Roy and Ruman Sana outplayed
their Japanese counterpart in the first round elimination by 5-1 set. But the Bangladesh pair eliminated from the quarterfinal when they suffered 6-2 set defeat at the hands of Chinese Taipei.
But in the mixed team event of compound division, Abul Kashem Mamun and Rokshana Akhter went down to their Malaysian opponents by 156-141 points.
