Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) on Thursday removed several unauthorised business establishments from the residential area in Uttara in the capital, reports UNB. A Rajuk mobile court team, led by Rajuk Executive Magistrate Md Nasir Uddin, also fined a private and a hospital Tk 2 lakh for running their activities in the residential area.
The mobile court conducted a drive at house-35 of Shah Makdum Road of Uttara Sector-12 and fined Mutual Trust Bank and Redical Hospital Tk 1 lakh each for using the residential building for commercial purposes, said Rajuk Assistant Director (PR) Md Atiqur Rahman.
It also asked the managements of the two organisations to shift elsewhere within the next one month, he said, adding that underground parking space of the building was also freed removing various rooms of the hospital. The mobile court later conducted another drive at plot-43 and removed two showrooms - one of tiles company Tilottoma and another of Kazi Farm Chicken -- from its parking space, Atiqur said.
