105 drug peddlers in Rajshahi rehabilitated

RAJSHAHI: One hundred and five drug peddlers of Shahmukhdum area in the city have returned to normal life with a promise of not getting involved in the heinous act again, reports BSS. On the occasion, they were rehabilitated with rickshaw-van, sewing machines and cash money. In this connection, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) hosted a meeting titled 'Rehabilitation and Reception to the persons who abandoned the Drug Trading' in Shahmukhdum Police Station compound for rehabilitating them. RMP Commissioner Shafiqul Islam BPM was the chief guest while Ameer Jafar, Deputy Commissioner (East Zone) of RMP, presided over by the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Tanveer Haider Chowdhury and Deputy Commissioner (West Zone) AKM Nahidul Islam, Mayor-in-Charge of Rajshahi City Corporation Nizam-Ul Azim, President of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Md Muniruzzaman and Principal of Rajshahi Mohila Polytechnic Institute Omor Faruque were the special guests.
