Detectives in a drive arrested the ex-husband of slain female banker Arifunnesa from Dhanbari in Tangail district yesterday in connection with the murder of the banker, reports UNB. Tipped off, a team of DB (South) police of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, conducted a drive at a house at around 6:30 am and arrested Fakrul Islam Robin, said Deputy Commissioner (media) of DMP Masudur Rahman. Earlier on March 16, Arifun Nesa, 25, who used to work at Jamuna Bank's Paltan branch, was hacked to death allegedly by her former husband in the capital's Central Road area at around 9am, as she stepped out of her apartment. She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries at around 12:00 pm. A case was filed with Kalabagan police station accusing her ex-husband Robin the same day. The DB police also started a shadow investigation into the case alongside the local thana police and arrested Robin.
