Prachyanat School of Acting and Design will take out a procession ‘Lal Jatra’ to observe the dark night of March 25, 1971. The walk will start from Swaparjita Swadhinata Chattar of Dhaka University (TSC) to Smriti Chirantan Chattar (popularly known as VC Chattar) Fuller Road, tomorrow at 5pm.
The participants will be singing DL Roy’s ‘Dhono Dhannya Pushpe Bhora’ as they will walk wearing red and black attire. They will be carrying a red banner commemorating the bloodshed on that heinous night in 1971. Saiful Islam Jarnal of Prachyanat said, “On the commencement of the long Black Night, we will walk together from Swaparjita Swadhinata Chattar of Dhaka University (TSC) to Smriti Chirantan Chattar. That time we will sing the patriotic song ‘Dhono Dhannya Pushpe Bhora’. In the evening we will light candles at the Smriti Chirantan Chattar, where artistes of Prachyanat will stage an improvised play.
People from all walks of life are invited to join the procession wearing red or black attires at 5pm on March 25.
