Two killed in Magura road accident

MAGURA: Two people were killed in a truck-pickup van collision in Belnagar area on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Sadar upazila of the district early yesterday, reports BSS. The deceased are- pickup van driver Abu Hanif, son of Lal Mia, a resident of Fotulla in Dhaka and the identity of the helper could not be known immediately, police said. The pickup van collided head on with a Faridpur-bound sand-laden truck from Magura in the area around 5 am, leaving the van helper dead on the spot and the driver critically injured in the accident, said sub-inspectorof Magura Highway police Bitul Hasan. The pickup van driver rushed to the Magura Sadar hospital where he died after some time. Both the vehicles were seized, police added.
