Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia have denounced the terror attack on the UK parliament on Wednesday, reports UNB. "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that took place outside the British parliament on Wednesday," the PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said yesterday. Hasina, also the Awami League president, expressed deep shock at the death of five people and injuries to 40 others in the attack, he said.
Meanwhile, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday denounced and protested the terror attack and said, “Terrorists have now built an international network and are trying to establish a reign of terror across the world in a dangerous way”.
"It's incredible and disgusting the way common people's blood is being shed due to their desperate game with death,” she said in a statement.
Describing the terrorists as the enemies of mankind, the BNP chief said the extremists want to push the world towards the primitive barbarism by destroying all the symbols of achievements of civilization. A knife-wielding man went on a deadly rampage in the heart of Britain's seat of power on Wednesday, plowing a car into pedestrians on London's Westminster Bridge before stabbing a police officer to death inside the gates of parliament. Five people were killed, including the assailant, and 40 others were injured in the attack.
