Off-spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraj yet again flew for Colombo as he called up in the Bangladesh one day squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against the hosts Sri Lanka yesterday.

Just three days ago, Miraj returned home from Sri Lanka to play the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup for Bangladesh after the successful completion of the two-Test match series.
Bangladesh drew the Test series 1-1 with four wickets victory in their second and last Test in Colombo by showcasing their outstanding performance with bat and ball.
Following this successful Test campaign, Bangladesh once again will face-off the Islanders in the three-match ODI series, the first two of which will be held at Dambulla’s Rangiri International Stadium on March 25 and 28 respectively before two-match Twenty20 series.
Miraj, who already justified his worth with his spin magic, claimed 35 wickets in his seven-Test career with the best bowling figures of 6-77 that he showcased on home turf against high-ranked England on his Test debut last year. He grabbed 10 wickets in last two-Test series against Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh squad in Sri Lanka stood at number 17 after the inclusion of the 20-year-old Miraj. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) meanwhile replaced Miraj by off break bowler Naeem Hasan, who was in the 23-member Bangladesh preliminary squad for the Emerging Teams Cup.
Hasan made his first class debut for Chittagong Division in the National Cricket League (NCL) this season. He also represented Islami Bank East Zone in the just concluding franchisee-based longer version cricket tournament of Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL).
The youngster of Bangladesh Under 19 Team, who earlier played the Under 19 Asia Cup for Bangladesh in Sri Lanka last year, will join the final squad in Cox’s Bazar though he was there for the last two practice matches.
Bangladesh ODI squad: Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Imrul Kayes, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Sabbir Rahman Rumman, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Masrafe Bin Mortaza, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Shubhashis Roy, Sanjamul Islam, Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury, Nurul Hasan Sohan and Mehedi Hasan Miraj.
