A national campaign to stop violence against children began in the country yesterday, reports BSS.
Chief Coordinator of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Md Abul Kalam Azad inaugurated the campaign as chief guest at a function at BRAC centre auditorium in the capital.
The campaign with the theme ‘It takes me to end physical violence against children-at home, school and workplace’ is jointly organised by National Human Rights Commission Bangladesh, Child Rights Advocacy Coalition (CRAC) in Bangladesh and World Vision Bangladesh (WVB).
National Human Rights Commission Bangladesh Chairman Kazi Rizaul Haque chaired the inaugural function while National Director of WVB Fred Witteveen, Member of National Human Rights Commission Md Nazrul Islam, Additional Secretary of Women and Child Affairs Ministry Md Mashuk Mia, Director of Bangladesh Child Rights Forum Abdus Shahid Mahmud, Director of WVB Sabiba Sultana Nupur and Director of Shishu Ghashful Forum Sayma Akther Dipty spoke on the occasion.
