Students protest CU decision on medical issue

CU Correspondent

The students of Chittagong University (CU) yesterday formed a human chain in protest against the CU authorities’ decision on female students’ medical treatment.

According to this rule a female student must go to medical centre for treatment within 10am to 6pm. Otherwise, they have to go with a house tutor of related residential hall. Students of different departments and institutions under the banner “Student of University of Chittagong’ formed the human chain in front of the Shaheed Minar around 12pm.  They also give a memorandum to the VC to push for three-point demand.
Akashi Chakma, a protester of the human chain said “This is discrimination for female students. A female student can be unwell at midnight then what will happen to her if house tutor do not receive their phone call.”
