Ten more airports to be built in Yunnan by 2025

By 2025, according to the “Na-tional Civil Airport Plan” jointly is-sued by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Civil Aviation Administration of China, Yunnan will build ten new airports. The facilities will serve the cities of Honghe, Yuanyang, Qiubei, Xuanwei, Chuxiong, Yuxi, Mengla, Yongshan, Jingdong and Nujiang, and augment the prov-ince’s 15 existing airports.

Lancang Jingmai Airport, the fifteenth airport in Yunnan, has completed aviation tests and will go into operation this year. Lan-cang Jingmai Airport is located in Donghui Town, Lancang County, Pu’er City. It is designed to handle a passenger throughput of 250,000 annually, as well as cargo and mail throughput of 750 tons by 2020. The airfield a is 4C-rated civilian feeder route airport, and will be able to accommodate A319, A320, B737 and other types of aircraft.
