Journalists serving in mainstream print and electronic media will stage a street march towards Prime Minister's Office (PMO) today protesting the delay in constituting the ninth wage board as pledged by authorities, reports BSS. A press release signed by BFUJ secretary general Omar Farooque, said yesterday that Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) will organise the march at about 11 am starting from the Jatiya Press Club.
"All members of BFUJ, DUJ and senior journalists are requested to join the protest programme for the ninth wage board," the release reads.
Meanwhile, BFUJ President Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul and General Secretary Omar Faruque, DUJ President Shaban Mahmud and General Secretary Sohel Haider Chowdhury, in separate statements, urged all newsmen to make the programme a success.
