NSC to install flood light in due time
Sports Reporter

The uncertainty of organising the Asia Cup Hockey in Bangladesh has already been over when the procedure of setting the floodlight at the Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium is going on in full swing.

Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) is now out of anxiety when the file regarding setting the floodlight will be dispatched to National Sports Council (NSC) from the Planning Ministry by seven to eight days, general secretary of BHF Abdus Sadeque informed The Independent yesterday.
“All the impediments have already been ended, the file, respecting the floodlight will be placed at NSC from the Planning Ministry after their approval by seven to eight days,” said Sadeque.
Sadeque is very much optimistic that they will able to complete all the works of setting up the floodlight – “The tournament is scheduled to take place from 14 to October 30, so we have more than six months in hands. In modern days, with modern technology, it will not take time to make the solution, all the procedures are going smoothly.”
Sadeque, the first captain of the Bangladesh national hockey team said, “I am hopeful that floodlight will set up in due time and we will be able to organise the Asia Cup Hockey.”
The first edition of the Asia Cup was held in 1982 in Karachi, while Bangladesh was the hosts of the second edition in 1985 and rest of seven editions were organised by Malaysia.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh successfully organised recently concluded eight nations World Hockey League Round 2 and the AFH was also pleased to see the success of the BHF but an uncertainty was arose with setting the floodlight, as the NSC and Planning Ministry were making delay to stride out to solve the problem.
But all the questions have already been ended when the NSC and the Planning Ministry gave importance and taking necessary steps.
Eight countries, including host Bangladesh will compete for the title of the ninth edition of the Asia Cup. India, Pakistan, South Korea, Malaysia, Japan, China and Oman are the other seven countries apart from Bangladesh.
