The newly elected and former leaders of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) have called for exploring prospects of trade and commerce to further accelerate development in the northern region, BSS reports from Rangpur.
They were addressing the installation ceremony of the newly elected executive committee of RCCI for 2015-2017 at RCCI auditorium in Rangpur yesterday with outgoing RCCI President Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu in the chair.
Chairman of the RCCI Election Board, Senior Assistant Vice- president and manager of Rangpur Branch of National Bank Ltd Atoar Rahman Sarker conducted the oath-taking of the newly elected executive committee.
The speakers said the northern region could become the country’s leading economic zone if its human, natural and mineral resources, including coal, were properly and timely utilised for promoting industrialisation.
