NARAYANGANJ: A worker at hosiery, who was injured in an attack by his fellow workers, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Sunday, reports UNB.
Quoting Rashed Shikder, an owner of Rupaiya Hoshier, located at Kashimpur in Fatullah, police said Fahim, 24, son of Ilias Mia of Munshiganj district and brother-in-law of the owner used to work at his factory as marketing officer and lived in the hosiery with two other workers.
On Sunday morning, Rashed found the main gate of the factory locked. Upon entering by breaking open a door, he found Fahim lying in a pool of blood, said Majed Mia, sub-inspector of Fatullah Model Police Station.
Later Fahim was taken to Narayanganj General Hospital, presumably still alive since doctors there shifted him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries around 11:30 am at the hospital.
Police are suspecting one Sohag and his nephew Yusuf, both from Mymensingh, who also used to work at the factory and spent the nights with Fahim. Both are reportedly missing since the incident.
Yusuf and Shohag are said to have had a dispute with Fahim over ‘a trifling matter’, for which they might have hit Fahim with a heavy object over the issue in some time in the night and fled the scene, speculated the SI.
