Family members have declined to take the bodies of the militant couple killed at Chhayaneer building and their child.
Two militants, out of four killed in a 20-hour operation at Chhayaneer in Chowdhury Para of Sitakunda under Chittagong last Thursday, were identified by their family members at the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue yesterday.
“Being involved in militancy, they have committed a heinous crime. We don’t want to take their bodies as they were militants. They have tarnished our image,” Mozzaffar Ahmed said at the CMCH morgue where the bodies were kept.
“We urge Anjuman Mofidul Islam (an organisation that buries unidentified bodies) to bury the bodies,” he added.
The two militants were identified as Kamal Uddin, son of Mozzaffar, and Jobayeda Begum, daughter of Nurul Alam of Baishari union in Naikhanchhari of Bandarban district.
