James to perform at anti-militancy concert March 24

Celebrated band singer James will perform at a concert titled ‘Concert Against Militancy’ on March 24 on the open premises of Government Physical Education College in the capital’s Mohammadpur area. 

Marking the Independence Day 2017, which will be observed on March 26 and to create awareness among the young generation about the recent militancy, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Universal Medical Collage, Dhaka have jointly organised the concert. 
RAB Director General Benazir Ahmed will attend the event to give advice and guidance to the youth. Besides, joining the event on March 24, eminent civil society members will also share their views in front of the young participants. Managing Director of Universal Medical College Dr Ashis Kumar Chakraborty confirmed the news.  
James said about the concert, “I will perform at the concert to create awareness among the youth. I hope it will be a wonderful concert. I am grateful to the organisers who have taken such an initiative.” 
Besides James, seven prominent bands such as ‘Maqsood O Dhaka’, ‘Chirkut’, ‘Shironamhin’, ‘Vikings’, ‘Artcell’, ‘Shunno’ and ‘Abstraction’ will also perform at the concert. 
The concert will remain open to all, which will be taking place from 3pm to 11pm on March 24.  l
