47 held in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR: Police, in special drives from Sunday night to yesterday morning, arrested 47 persons including nine drug traders and recovered illegal drugs- 318 pieces of yaba tablets, 700 liters of locally made liquor and 13,700 pieces of cow fattening tablets - from nine upazilas of the district, reports BSS.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.
Police said, during the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested 13 persons including four drug traders with 700 liters of locally made liquor, Phulbari police two, Khansama three, Birganj five, Kaharole four, Hakimpur police seven including five drug traders with 318 pieces of Yaba tablets and 13,700 pieces of cow fattening tablets, Birampur police arrested five, Chirirbandar police four and Ghoraghat police arrested four accused.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
The arrestees were sent to jail.
