Six killed in Gaibandha road crash

 At least six people, including a child and one woman, were killed and 13 others injured as a bus collided head-on with a truck on the Rangpur-Bogra highway in Jumarghar 41-Mile area under Gobindaganj upazila of the district yesterday morning, reports BSS.
The identities of the victims could not be known immediately, said OC of Gobindaganj Highway Thana Abul Bashar. Police said the accident occurred when the Syedpur bound bus of Shakil Paribahan coming from Dhaka collided with the truck in the area. The bus fell into a roadside ditch and turned turtle leaving four passengers dead on the spot.
Being informed, the Highway police and members of Fire Service and Civil Defense rushed to the spot and rescued the injured and sent them to Gobindganj Upazila Health Complex and Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College, Bogra, said Gobindaganj UNO Abdul Hannan.
Of the injured, two died on the way to the hospital and the number of deaths could be increased, he also said.
