Biz tech challenge held at AIUB
The Department of Management Information System (MIS) of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organised an event Biz Tech Challenge on Thursday at FSIT Building, says a press release.
Using Information system to automate business was the theme of the programme.
The event was officially inaugurated by the Vice-chancellor (VC) of AIUB, Dr Carmen Z. Lamagna on the same day morning. The VC visited the digital poster competition in social media and other events of the programme. An Intra College Poster Presentations, Power Point presentation on new innovative business ideas, and ICT quiz contest competition were also held where 300 AIUB students and more then 170 students from 17 renowned colleges were participated. A seminar was held on opportunities for MIS graduates in Telecom industry. M. Manzur Rahman, Country Head - Digital Services at Robi Axiata Limited was the guest speaker of the seminar and share valuable ideas to the students.
WTO team calls on DU VC
A three-member delegation of World Trade Organisation (WTO) paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at his office on Friday.
Executive Director of the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) of WTO Ratnakar Odhikari led the delegation, said a DU press release on Saturday. Other team members were EIF Coordinator Hang TT Tran and Asia Pacific Regional Portfolio Manager of United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) R Manivannan. Director of WTO cell of Bangladesh government Md Hafizur Rahman and Professor of DU Finance Department Dr M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury were present at the meeting, among others. During the meeting, they discussed issues related to business education and education management at Dhaka University. They underscored the need for further improving the existing relationship of cooperation between DU and WTO.
BAU annual sports competition held
A two-day long annual sport of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh was held at the university stadium on Saturday.
Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Ali Akbar inaugurated the annual sports competition by releasing balloons as the chief guest with Students Affairs Adviser Prof Dr S D Chowdhury in the chair. Pro-VC Prof Dr Md Jasimuddin Khan, convener of dean council Prof Md Abdur Rashid, convener of provost council Prof Dr Md. Sadekul Islam and Proctor of BAU Prof Dr AKM Zakir Hossain were present.
