Mid-day-meal programme launched in Rajshahi
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam on Saturday said the present government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken a decision of launching mid-day-meal programme at all primary schools for making schooling attractive to students and reducing dropouts.
He said the government has given highest priority to the primary education as it's very important to make the nation free from the curse of illiteracy.
Not only that, foundation of any higher education started from this level, he added.
The state minister made this observation while launching the mid-day-meal programme at Sardaha Government Primary School under Charghat upazila as chief guest.
Cartoon and Science Kit workshop held in capital
JCI Dhaka West, a local chapter of JCI Bangladesh, organised a Cartoon and Science Kit workshop, ‘Artistry' on Saturday marking the Independence Day, says a press release.
The event took place at Oxford International School in Dhanmondi in the capital. Earlier in February, JCI Dhaka West organised an art competition ‘Battle of the brush 2.0’ where more than 530 students from 46 different schools participated.
Top 100+ participants were invited in the workshop. Children from Autism Welfare Foundation (AWF) also participated in the workshop.
The instructor was Morshed Mishu, Assistant Editor of Unmad. The programme is aimed towards creating a more conscious society towards the differently abled in our country.
PM condoles death of Amina Khatun
Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday expressed deep shock at the death of Amina Khatun, the mother of Mejbahur Rahman Bhuiyan Ratan, the education and human resources affairs secretary of Dhaka South City Awami League.
In a condolence message, the premier prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
In a separate condolence message, AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader also mourned the death of Amina Khatun.
