Cricketers’ transfer ends

The two-day-long transfer window of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League for the 2016-2017 season ended without much excitement at the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis office of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur yesterday.
A total of 59 players from eight different clubs took part in the last day. The procedure of the day started with Rajin Saleh, who signed for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi this year.
Country’s traditional powerhouse Abahani Limited and Mohammedan Sporting Club appeared in players transfer with the most of the players. This day a total of seven players signed for defending champions Abahani and nine players for Mohammaden.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Mithun, Abu Jayed Rahi, Sadman Islam Anik, Afif Hossain Dhrubo, Saif Hassan, Kazi Anik Islam and Mohammad Furkan signed deal with defending champion. “Abahani Limited always form their team for championship. This time they formed a team with the blend of experienced and youngster players. So, we will try our best to defend the title,” said Mohammad Mithun after the conclusion of their transfer formality.
Shamsur Rahman Shuvo, Jubair Hossain Likhon, Rony Talukdar, Avishik Mitra, Mohammad Azim, Sajedul Islam, Abid Hossain, Abdur Rahman Rony, Amit Kumar Nayan penned paper for Mohammedan.
Shahriar Nafees, Arafat Sunny, Marshall Ayub along with other 11 players signed for Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club.
Nafees after the end of the formalities said that they want to end the drought of the title. “Prime Doleshwar formed the team to win the league title but they could not lift it. This time we will try to break the title drought,” said Shahriar Nafees.
